Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Pam Hemann for State Representative is committed to making pam4pa.com usable by everyone in the 110th District, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, voice control, or captioning.

A campaign website is how many voters get their information. If any part of this one is not working for you, that is a problem we want to fix — and we would rather hear about it than not.

Standard we aim for

We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we work toward the additional criteria in WCAG 2.2 where we can. WCAG is the internationally recognized standard for accessible web content and is the benchmark used under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

We describe this site as partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA: most of the site meets the standard, and the known exceptions are listed below. We would rather say that plainly than claim full conformance we have not verified on every page.

What we have done

  • The site works on phones, tablets, and desktops, and reflows without horizontal scrolling at small sizes and high zoom
  • Every page carries exactly one top-level heading, and the headings below it run in a logical order with no skipped levels, so screen-reader users can navigate by structure
  • Interactive elements can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone
  • Text and background colors are chosen for contrast, and text can be enlarged without breaking the layout
  • Our Fact Cards are published as real, selectable HTML text rather than flat images, so screen readers can read them and visitors can enlarge them — the source graphic is offered separately for sharing
  • Links are written to make sense out of context, and links that open new windows or leave the site are marked
  • Forms have visible labels, and errors are described in text rather than by color alone

Known limitations

We are being candid about where we are not there yet:

  • Older images. Some photographs added early in the campaign may lack descriptive alternative text. We are working through the library.
  • Third-party pages. Our contribution pages are hosted by ActBlue, and linked government records are published by the Commonwealth. We do not control the accessibility of those pages, though we choose partners who take it seriously.
  • Embedded and shared media. Video or social content produced by others may lack captions or transcripts. Where we produce video ourselves, we caption it.
  • Documents. Any PDF or scanned document we link to may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Ask us and we will provide the content in an accessible format.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to tell you what we are going to do about it. If something is blocking you from information you need, say so and we will get it to you another way — by email, large print, or over the phone — while we fix the page.

How this site is built and reviewed

This site runs on WordPress and is maintained by MoodUS Media LLC. Accessibility is checked as part of every change we make, using a combination of automated testing and manual keyboard and screen-reader review, rather than being audited once and forgotten.

We do not use an accessibility overlay or toolbar widget. Overlays are widely criticized by disabled users and by accessibility practitioners for masking problems rather than fixing them, and we would rather fix the underlying page.

Review

This statement was prepared on August 25, 2026 and is reviewed whenever the site changes substantially, and at least once per campaign cycle.
